With the environment in focus

It is produced about 1 million garments every year for the European market in Blåkläders production units. We are working hard to minimize the negative environmental impact that our products and their production can have. Everything from chemicals, heat, electricity, and transportation is controlled and restricted.

We believe that one of the cornerstones of a sustainable environmental work is to have good communication and to visit our suppliers and production facilities. Therefore we continuously travel to our suppliers, to build a long term relationship and ensure that all our environmental requirements are complied. To feel extra safe, we prioritize suppliers that have an explicit environmental work. Simultaneously we develop all our products so that they are of high quality and they can be used for a long time - and thus save the earth's resources.

Blåkläder are certified according to ISO 14001 environmental management system, and constantly develop our environmental efforts. We are also affiliated with REPA, and thus take our responsibility when it comes to recycling plastic, metal, paper / cardboard and corrugated cardboard.

We also work with REACH, 1907/2006/EC, the European regulation on chemicals and the safe use of these. As an extension of our chemical work we prioritize working with Oeko-tex certified fabrics and components.
